well, at my new job were i haven't mentioned the RA, i was having difficulty seeing on the chair i had due to the height. Anyway, i got given another one to try. It was the most bulky heavy chair! I found it hard work getting on and off it. Not the best! Also the filing system was awful, they had to climb on a step ladder to do the filing. I really couldn't do it as i would have been on the top step and then stretching up and across to file. I made some excuse due to the fact i am short anyway and i didn't want to fall. So...my job isn't going as well as i thought it would be doing. Sad

Hello Dawn,

Sorry to hear that things not going so well as you hoped.

I started back to work yest for 3 hours after having an access to work interview, although I
have not received the report back yet the suggestions were amazing down to a special new chair
to special writing pens to 'tipper' to help pouring the kettle(important when working in office)
Perhaps your firm could getting funding like my firm will get . May be worth a try they
have to help you

Good luck

Hi Dawn, sorry you are experiencing obstacles you didn't expect. Did you change jobs recently? (I'm sorry I don't have a good memory but seem to remember you saying that you were changing jobs). You definitely need an occupational health referral to establish for you and your employer exactly what your needs are. Your employer should know how to request one but if they don't, you can get it done through Access to Work which is run by DWP/Jobcentre Plus. Your local Jobcentre should be able to give you contact details.

Take care.

Thanks julie, yes, i have only been there for 2 months and i thought it was going to be great, but it isn't! I didn't tell the boss about RA as i am well and peoples faces seem to drop when you tell them. I work part time so appointment times are ok to get. As for getting in touch with Occupational health, it seems a bit drastic for me,. I like to keep under the radar so to speak! Smile At this moment i am seriously thinking about moving on again, but won't be jumping out of the frying pan and in to the fire! Smile I just want to work somewhere were i am happy, do my job and be comfortable doing it. Smile Thanks again, dawnybee
